BIO

Western Youth is a band of rock ‘n rollers and twangy crooners longing for an honest Americana yesteryear. Tender hearts rode hard;  the sextet is in a time of auspicious growth with their smart lyrics, harmonies sublime and guitar riffs searing and intricate. Defiance and staunch evolution define this emerging ensemble, whom Austin Chronicle declared “smolders with a Stonesy swagger.” They’ve billed with Rayland Baxter, Paul Cauthen, The Band of Heathens, Billy Strings, Jamestown Revival and have quickly become regulars on the festival circuit including official showcase performances at SXSW (since 2018), Nashville and Brooklyn AmericanaFest, and Jam in the Van. Peter Blackstock of the The Austin American-Statesman called their 2018 self-titled full-length album debut “one of the best roots-based rock ‘n’ roll records to come out of Austin in quite some time,” and more recently during SXSW 2022 asked “is there a better rock band in Austin, TX right now?!” The band is set to release a pair of EPs later this year that were recorded at Jim Eno’s (Spoon) Public Hifi Studio in Austin, TX, engineered and mixed by Charles Godfrey best known for his work with the likes of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Whiskey Myers, and mastered by Ray Kennedy who's worked with singer-songwriter legends Lucinda Williams, Steve Earle, Sharon Van Etten and John Prine.

Band members include Taylor Wiliams and Graham Weber on guitar and vocals; Brian Bowe on drums and vocals; Sam Powell on keys; Mark Nathan on guitar; and Chris Spencer on bass.
